On Quote... Put Down Your Phone Today

People often heads down for their cell phones browsing, texting, Insta-ing, selfie-ing and even LOL in whatsapp and twitter without physically laughing. Sharing and expressing are in cell phones. The time we spend on phones are so much that we are glued to it, or otherwise. No offense, because I'm one of them.

Put down your phones is a healthy action to spend your time physically with your family and friends around you. As well, find your love ones and even your admirer to talk to and listen to their golden stories.

Not only December is a happy gathering month, we should gather everyday.

So put down your phones, look at your family, friends and love ones around you, notice them and share happiness together.

Note: your phone needs to rest, it's too hot!

Why I Quit My “Seems Promising” Job

My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.
- Maya Angelou
Before I started this post, I know some of my ex-colleagues might see this or maybe some of my words will get disagreements or dislike. But the purpose here is to arouse those who’re grinding in their jobs, some not even noticing they are grinding. So here is this post.

2008

I was a newbie in an IT distributor company (yes fast paced industry). I need to learn everything and do everything I was told, that’s my job. I thought this might be a good start in a good company. I’m not sure whether that thought was implanted by my the ex-colleagues or myself but I’m sure it was at everyone’s tongue and still is. I had no goal no plan but kept learning and execute. I was just a somebody with low income. How much anger and unfair I gained I swallowed. It was my routine for 2 years.

2010

A manager brought me up to assist her. It was only one level up and of course better pay. I was glad (I am still glad actually) that I was “her girl” as she’s a good and caring leader. I learnt more and soon after that my job was promising with another thought that “I can have a better future from here”. I worked harder. Everyone thought it was right including me. Everyday was a routine, and grinding was a practice.

Then, I realized it wasn’t what I wanted. I didn’t know what I want to be frank, but I was dying and becoming a zombie that rrrrgggrrr to work and aaarrrggrrr at my workdesk and rrrggrrr back home. I did good in my job but wasn’t satisfying myself. It was killing my years, health, patience and mental. And in a fast paced industry which many like to be in, it sucked my blood. I’m not complaining about my manager, she’s good! Really! But the routine and everyday grinding were taking myself away.

2014

I decided to quit, without good saving in my account. I could have a good jump into another world with higher income and position but I gave it up. It was right in front of me but I know it wasn’t the thing I want. I could pretend to be the “someone” in “the another world” but I know I won’t be satisfied, I won’t be happy. Seriously, lots, and I mean real lots of people are pretending to be "someone" in their field. It will end up unhappy and grinding everyday too and they’ll say “I hate my job”. Even if you’re not splitting it out from your mouth, it will be in your heart.

“Yes this is what everyone want and some can’t even get it.”, “You are making a success!”, “Oh! You are meant to be in this job!”, “You can have a great fortune!”, “You have a job that’s good enough.”, “How can I be without you?”.

The praises and convincing words sound familiar? Everyone love these words, me too. But one day I realized the promising thoughts and the words were brain-washer. That’s where you lost yourself. That’s where I lost myself.

Now

Yes I quit my almost 6 years job. Collect my lost soul and spirit back. I’m now learning and working on stuff I like, I’m happy. I’m closer with my friends, I’m closer with my families and gosh! I regretted that I missed so much treasured moment with them. I was incredibly impatient but now not. I’m still unemployed but I’m glad of my decision which lead me found my passion and life. I had a dream, covered it at the bottom forgotten. Now I’m trying to make my dream come true, and I’m happy.

Discover what matters most to you and turn grinding into a positive.

Yes everyone need a job, need income and think leaving a job is risky. It’s true. But if you’re unhappy with your job and saying “it’s killing me” everyday, why? You have to make yourself literally dying because of your job?

"You have to be burning with an idea, or a problem, or a wrong that you want to right. If you're not passionate enough from the start, you'll never stick it out."
― Steve Jobs

I’m sure where you’re at is not the only place you can end up with. Everyone has a dream, a passion. I believe with your passion you can work your dream out. Do something! And anything to get closer to your dream, at least you won’t say sorry to your life in your last breath at the end.

"If passion drives you, let reason hold the reins."
-Benjamin Franklin

Step out from your comfort zone!

Working parents, understand that you have kids relying on you. But I believe there’s always a way and I’m sure your kids will be proud of you pursuing your dream, parents are role models J

I hope that this will help and gives you courage to make decision – a decision to your life.

10 Reasons Why Jeggings Should Be Loved?

First of all, jeggings ain’t jeans nor legging but are jeans + leggings. Jeggings give extreme elasticity, easy to wear yet thicker than leggings. In simple, it’s elastic comfy version with denim jeans look.

Here are the difference between leggings and jeggings:

Leggings: thin, tight fitting style that are made from lycra, spandex, nylon, cotton or polyester. It can be saggy after few hours wear. It’s sheer and thin enough to show your butt, panty line and the OMG V-line.

Jeggings: an advanced version of leggings. Thicker than leggings, tight fitting as well but with a denim jeans style in elastic version. Some of them have stitch detail pocket. They are versatile, comfortable, edgy and stylish.

Some ladies are afraid to wear jeggings because of their skinny fit effect which they think will show everything they don’t want to show – the huge. Let me tell you, you are NOT absolutely right. Match jegging with perfect top and shoe/boot and you’re good to go. Curvy Kim K kills it in jeggings.

Let me tell you why you should love jeggings.

1.       It gives you the comfort feel of leggings yet still gives the casual chic edgy look of jeans.
2.       You’ll look great in every kind of shoes especially boots. It’s very easy to tuck your boots in with jeggings.
3.       The elasticity you'll love! You can do yoga, play aerobic, run, dance and jump and your jegging is still perfectly there. 90 degree leg lift? No problem!
4.       Big butt? Heavy bottom? If jeans cannot fit you, don't worry, jeggings favor curvy women.

5.       They are so much easy matchy. You can pair with almost any tops including flowy/loose/huge tops.
6.       Again, it’s extremely comfortable. It’s like your second skin. No bulky feel.
7.       NO panty line and NO V-line. Excuuuse me! They are gross!

8.       You can wear short tops or anything above your butt since they cover what should be covered.
9.       Believe it or not, your butt, hips and thighs will be embraced. Jeggings have higher waist which can give you a more flattering slimming effect and cuuurve – Kim K and Beyonce ladies!
10.   They can visually draw your height up as well.

My love with jeggings started from my big/wide butt that getting a pair of jeans/trouser was a total headache to me. Jeans stuck at my butt for tons of times. It took me ages to find one that I could wear but still not perfectly fit.

Then, I found my savor – jeggings. I’m not shy to show my butt and short legs anymore because I look good in jeggings, in fact, very much better than jeans. I embrace my curves in jeggings.

In terms of colors, it depends on your body figure and height. Bear in mind that bright and poppy colors are not as easy matching, will bring out your body line even more obviously and bring down your height. So, I do not recommend it for short/heavy bottom people. I always prefer lighter denim blue colors to match most of my tops and it makes me look younger and fresher, for me personally. Moreover, classic denim blue color will never get outdated. For long skinny legs ladies, you’re lucky to be able to wear any colors you like.

Jeggings are good casual pieces to hangout. If you found a fashionable jegging, please try it before you buy whether it fits and you look good in it. Remember, clothes have to suit you not otherwise.

I recently bought a jegging from H&M. They are selling good comfy and fashionable jeggings in different colours at an affordable price. Go check it out!

JEGGINGS ARE MUST HAVE! Now, my over RM200 Levi’s jeans is unseen covered by all my jeggings.

What Does Modern Makeup Says?

There’s a recent post by Carly Cardellino featuring in various magazines online e.g. Marie Claire and Cosmopolitan to compare between outdated 90’s and modern makeup looks. And I was lucky I didn’t need to wear makeup those days although I was from late 80’s.

What is a modern today could be covered by another modern tomorrow. But there’s a consistency from year to year until now – style and natural. In my opinion, makeup is more about natural and clean look.

Here let you see what it means.

From what we see from the pictures:

The outdated look = super thin eyebrow (gosh) + thick foundation + over defined eyes (black liner’s sake) + unmatchy lip liner and lip colour + omg the hair -> faint

The modern look = thicker natural brow + light foundation coverage with just nice glowy effect + smokey eye (yes black but nicely smokey not over defined) + natural nude lip colour + style! -> ha~ lovely.

Got it? Modern is fresh + clean + you + your style. This is the reason the makeup products now is chasing towards nude -> natural -> modern instead of white -> pale -> outdated.

Here are some points NOT to get into outdated makeup look. Seriously, many ladies still onto it.

1. Do not over pluck your eyebrow but still maintain them in shape.  I remember when I was much younger girls and women over plucked their eyebrow and I thought it was horrible. I kept my thick eyebrow till now (phew~).

2. Apply your foundation as sheer as possible. If you still find imperfections add a little bit foundation/concealer at that particular spot, give it a few tap. Or it will be covered up by your following sheer blush/contour. Besides, imperfection is pretty normal and sometimes give a ‘real’ feel.

3. No ghost! Transfer to white/pale to nude/natural. Be very careful with your colours. Choose a foundation that is as similar as your skin tone and blush that gives freshness and warmth. Keep yourself out from being pale. Instead, warm and fresh look is more welcoming.

4. No over defined eyes and lips. Whatever colours and effect you use be ensure to bring out your features not over defining it. It will be awful if otherwise. You can make strong eyes but not only lining your entire eye in super black or super green or super blue. You may refer the first picture above of which Pamela Anderson versus Rihanna.

5. No over contour. Still, bring out your feature not over defining.

6. As light as possible. Heavy makeup gives “oh wow you painted your face?” impression. Matte or dewy, strong smokey or simple, nude or power lips, ensure not too heavy and everything is put together instead of against each other O_O

7. Your face is not a colour plate. For example a colourful eyes with red lip colour could get a response “hey are you going to perform in a circus?”

A formula in conclusion: clean + fresh + natural + you + your style = modern.

The main point is your modern makeup look is still representing you. Bare in mind that NOT TO OVERDO your makeup and make it as simple yet elegant and stylish as possible.

Impress others with your beautiful face J

The Thing With Gone Girl

Gone Girl is A MUST READ book in 2014 as well as its movie also is A MUST WATCH in this fall.

I don't have the chance to watch it in cinema since Malaysia is not releasing it so I read the book. Let me tell you my process with the book from after I bought it.

After I bought it:
Excited! Aaaaaa YES YES YES I GOT THE BOOK!
Damn I can't wait to read it but I have to finish the one I'm still on. I cannot jump to another one without finishing the current. I couldn't focus.
Finally after I finished the previous, "Gone Girl I finally can touch you ~!" A bit touchy when I can finally read it haha..

Me into the book:
Oh this is damn good!
What will the ending be? (Tempted to look behind but my mind was telling "NO! Hands back to where you are!").
Nick's bad husband. Pity good Amy.
Oh My God! Really?!
Hah! You deserve it!
Wow. I did not expect this. It's thrilling! And this human is freaking crazily scary.
Oh this is another good mystery turn.
Is this love?
Oh shit! Luckily there's no one like this crazy around me.

When I have to put down this book for something else:
Man, faster! I want Gone Girl! I want to know what's next and I'm almost in the end!

In and after the ending:
YES GO GET IT!. JAIL! PRISON!
You can do it!
Oh you're a so damn insane, crazy, monster.
Almost there! Hang on the spirit!
UH! W H A T?!

When I finished it I couldn't believe this is the end. Then I immediately googled "Gone Girl ending review" and apparently I'm not the only one. I wished for justice but it's more than that (Ops spoiler). After a night of sleep I was still thinking about the ending and I started to accept it. This is how the characters end the story with their way. Gillian Flynn did a good job actually.

I give 4.5 stars out of 5. If you haven't get into this story, watch the movie or read the book. It's a marvellous mystery/thriller story I personally love and is now my top favourite so far. Every character has their purposes in the story and none of the pages can bored you (maybe the beginning, just a little introduce of how it started. A little. But then very quickly you'll find it addictive).

Yes, it's addictive. You'd wish your eyes, brain and hands are attached with the book all the time, walk through the stories, scan every words, feel it - happy, sad, scared, thrill your mind with it and still cannot let it go, isolate yourself bugging with Gone Girl, till you feel like you're Nick or Amy, imagine yourself in the scene. Because when I was into this book, my mood being dragged.

Yes, Gone Girl is like a drug, only when you're reading it. If you watch the movie, I believe you'll be mentally swagged. This is the thing and you'll be astonished by. So, this is the warning!

I just want to say, what an awesome remarkable novel!

Movie Rewind - When In Rome, Make You Feel My Love by Adele

I was switching channels and came across When In Rome again. It was my 2nd time watching, because of charming, sexy, handsome Josh Duhamel. Ahh he's just attractive I can't get my eyes off him. I imagined myself as Kristen Bell in the movie when I was watching, which could only be in imagination.

Anyway, he's not the reason I'm blogging this. Adele's "Make You Feel My Love" in this movie is the purpose for me to share with you all here. Beautiful song. Enjoy J

What Makes You Happy?

Asked by H&M magazine. For me it's sure cannot be only one, but simple.

1.       A full sleep/nap on my comfy bed, of course.
2.       A friendly talk and chat with stranger you meet on the street, subway, counters. Share smiles and end with “Nice to meet you! Have a good day!”. It’s the beginning of a lovely day J
3.       Hugs, praises and kisses from loved ones.

4.       A nice full meal. Yummy yum yum + satisfaction ~
5.       A cup of hot chocolate, haaaaaa~~~ so good.
6.       Listening to my favourite songs – “Because I’m Happy!”
7.       Fill me with colours. Colours bring beauty and happiness.

8.       Done something happy/proud of myself. An achievement!
9.       A vacation at the beach, peaceful with only waves, wind, sand, warmth, coolness of the water, night sky full of stars and with loved ones.
10.   Shopping! Come on, who doesn’t love shopping??
11.   Finishing an awesome great good book.
12.   An intimate hang out with friends and BFFs, where you can go from silly to crazy.

13.   Fashion! When I’m in nice clothes, nice pair of shoe, makeup, manicure, and not without chic hair.
14.   Wishes and loves received and vice versa to others.
15.   After a good facial/body treatment and massage.
16.   A dinner, just me and my lovely husband. Then, a walk around.
17.   A good sex and relaxing after in his arms on bed. Suuweeeeett…
18.   An outing by myself. Shopping, a lunch, watch movie in cinema = I do what I want, I like and fuss-free. Yes, I’m a lone ranger and I feel good.
19.   A smile, laugh, action, funny words and hug from my cute nephew. He's always so sweet and the cutest.
20.   There’s no limitation of what certain things can bring happiness. Be happy for yourself and you’re always happy.

Give yourself a smile in the mirror and say “I’m awesome in an awesome day!”.

With love everywhere, to yourself and to others, you'll be happy.

Now, what makes you happy?

Mystery/Thriller season - 'Gone Girl' & 'Before I Go to Sleep' Movies

"WHAT! Gone Girl is not showing here?! Damn!" for unknown reason Malaysia cancelled its release.

I am a movie person. If there's a good movie, I'll watch; if there's a good book but going into screen, I'll choose to watch the movie. Like Love, Rosie.

I'll definitely watch Love, Rosie with my husband, soon. But my most neck-longing-looking-forward movies are Gone Girl and Nicole Kidman's Before I Go to Sleep. But the bad news is Malaysia is not showing Gone Girl and the good news is I've just got my Gone Girl book (just for the reason Malaysia is not showing it. Argh! Frustrated but glad to read the book anyways) and Before I Go to Sleep is coming soon on 30th October in Malaysia ~~!!!! Oh yeah oh yeah ~

I was not into mystery/thriller movie until I saw Gone Girl's trailer somewhere, a voice told me that 'I must watch this! I must watch this!'. Same thing happened when I saw Before I Go to Sleep's trailer. I was like "WHAAAAATTT!!" when it's announced that Gone Girl will no longer be showing in Malaysia. Then, I was like "Oh great. Another banned good movie. Nevermind, I'll help myself with the book." while a voice was telling me must watch that movie anyhow.

Because of Gone Girl mystery/thriller fiction is my trend pick now. Thus, I grabbed How to Be A Good Wife by Emma Chapman together with my Gone Girl in Kinokuniya bookstore in past weekend.

I’ll read Gone Girl first (since I’m so drawn into its mystery/story so much) while waiting for Before I Go to Sleep. AAAHHHHH it’s this week!! Let me show you the trailers if you haven’t seen it.

Gone Girl Trailer #2 (2014)

Before I Go to Sleep Trailer

Very tempting right? If it’s showing or will show in your country, go watch it! And let me know how do you think about it.

Many say that Before I Go to Sleep is somehow like Momento, a year 2000 movie which tells a man with short-term memory loss as well hunt for the man he thinks killed his wife. I never had the chance to watch that but I think Before I Go to Sleep will be more tempting and exciting. Whatsoever, I will not skip it.

And I hope How to Be A Good Wife will be a good read.

Review Time - The Time Keeper by Mitch Albom

Hello everyone! It's book review time ~

It's an inspirational book with a little bit of religious. I finished it within 2 days although it’s a short one (maybe I’m a slow reader), I was distracted by chores and planned outings. Despite distracted, my mind was with this book and couldn’t wait to be back to it and say “Oh I’m back! I missed you! Continue feed me!” It pulled and kept pulling me in with the story. I was not eager to know the ending but enjoyed exploring with the flow.

When I was browsing in MPHOnline.com looking for books randomly this book was just after my glanced for few times. The book name made me thought that “Nah… it should be a boring book. It may be a person promoting time saving everywhere and tells about his process and success; or someone either ordinary or popular wasting his time on his job, soulless life yet believe it’s meaningful, not appreciating blah blah blah… when come to realizing blah blah blah again…”. It kept appearing in my screen (it’s top recommended among of the popular list) until it finally succeeded to lure my attention after a long browse. I clicked in and read its’ description.

And what’s the story? Erm... I prefer not to tell in detail which will spoil the mood. However, here’s a little hint from MPHOnline.com:
Product Description:
Banished for centuries, as punishment for trying to measure time, the inventor of the world's first clock is finally granted his freedom, along with a mission: a chance to redeem himself by teaching two people the true meaning of time. He returns to our world and embarks on a journey with two unlikely partners: a teenage girl who is about to give up on life and a wealthy, ageing businessman who wants to live for ever. To save himself, he must save them both.Gripping, and filled with deep human truth, this unforgettable story will inspire readers everywhere to reconsider their own notions of time and just how precious it truly is.

Soooooo, it’s different from my boring thought and the description interested me too. I researched and it’s mostly good reviews everywhere. Then, put into cart and paid. It was a good buy. I’m not a fan of story begin slowly and clamps with ‘wow wow what?!’ words. I admit I’m not great in English but still not bad. Stories with sentences with extremely deep bizarre words will make me forget about it and leave the stories alone. But this book not. It started how the author from the international best seller, Mitch Albom wrote it should be and attracted you till the end. Easy reading and understanding despite some imagination needed (tips: it’s an illusion one involving the other side of the world, and one unpredictable character).

What it taught me?

Humanity, life, positivity and destiny. One who wants too little time, while, the other wants another lifetime. They tried to change and manipulate but time is an uncontrollable measurement to humans, you cannot end your future by yourself nor extend it till no last. We shall not change what is destined, thus, live meaningful and appreciate those mean a lot to us everytime, anytime.

There’re a few sentences I comprehended by:

"It is never too late or too soon. It is when it is supposed to be.”

"We all yearn for what we have lost. But sometimes, we forget what we have."

And the famous one is:

"There is a reason why God limits our days."

"Why?"

"To make each one precious."
